X. 3485 - GOSHAWK BALLAST RESISTANCE

We consider that in making the connection of the end of the wire of the ballast resistance to the tag, the loose end of the wire, after being wound round the tag twice, should be carefully twisted round the working wire to give additional strength at this point, and then the silver soldering shoulde only be performed round the tag itself. We think this would overcome any tendency of the wire to break off near to the point of soldering, where no doubt some weakness is produced by this operation.
