Test results for lower capacity condensers on 20/25 HP and Phantom II chassis to address misfiring.

two chassis besides 24-EX, one a 20/25 HP. chassis, the points on which were unoxidized, the condenser capacity being .27 mf. i.e. slightly lower than the present lowest production limit, and the other a Phantom II which had run 18,000 miles and also shewed no oxidation on the points, the condenser capacity in this instance being .25 mf."

The above results clearly appear to indicate the advisability of a lower capacity condenser as this brings about the dull grey working surface of both contact points which appears right in controdistinction to the dark blue surface of one of the contact points which has probably been the cause at times of complaints of misfiring.

We are proceeding with further tests of these lower capacity condensers with a view to standardisation of a suitable value.
