Dear Sirs,

Further to our letter of the 27th inst; replying to yours dated the 21st; but received on the 27th inst; we have now the following comments from our Works.

From tests made on a National Physical Laboratory Machine, they agree that when "Halo" Lined Brakes have been on for some time and become hot, the co-efficient of friction is considerably reduced. These tests, however, have rarely exceeded 220°F, the drum being water cooled.

Under normal service conditions they doubt if the material can become so hot as to render it dangerously ineffective, for immediately it cools slightly it recovers its efficiency.

Tests of our "Brabestos" Fabric - Woven Asbestos & Brass Wire - shew that its efficiency increases slightly when it becomes hot, although actual experience on the road tends to prove to the contrary.

It will interest us to know if the results you have obtained are from bench or road tests.

Yours faithfully,

"SCANDINAVIA " BELTING LTD.

T.Dalmaine. Director.
