To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Experimental Cars. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}19/El.7.30
Copy to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}

In the list of experimental cars, Hsl/EE.306.30 I see it says that 14-EX is being used in connection with development of silent (helical) three speed gear.

Would you please let me know whether this is something different from the device we tried on a 20/25, and also give me general information in regard to this matter.

I am becoming increasingly anxious in regard to this question of some satisfactory device to enable us to offer an easy change from third to top and vice versa.

Referring further to the same memo. I notice that excluding 18-EX used by R.{Sir Henry Royce} you have 4 Phantom II cars now for general development purposes in addition to the left handed chassis, and should be glad to know if you are satisfied that you still really require as many cars as this.
