To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} 200a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.3/JH.30.12.37. 6.B.IV Car Thermostat System. In view of the fact that the thermostat system fitted to 6.B.IV. is not to be standardised for M series Bentley or any other car, there is no point in completing 15,000 miles on it. On the other hand, useful information can be obtained by running the B.III system, the parts for this suitably modified for Bentley II are now ready (SCD.141 and SCD.149). Will you therefore fit these schemes to 6.B.IV car while it is in the garage today or tomorrow, this cancels the instructions for fitting these schemes to B.23.AE. car. Will you please fit the thermostat which we will hand to you with the bulb at the position provided on the thermostat casing. (instead of at the rear of the cylinder head) if the length of capillary suffices for this purpose. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
