There have been cases here of customers complaining about the inconvenience, and, in some instances, inefficiency of the "Enots" lubricators now fitted by us to various Chasses points, and in one instance these have been discarded by a 20 h.p. Rolls-Royce owner and replaced by "Zerk", - this particular owner claiming that to lubricate the Chassis with "Zerk" lubricators took far less time than with "Enots" and, moreover, he was enabled to subject the part, using "Zerks" and "Zerk" Gun, to a much higher pressure of lubricant. It is possible that the saving of time is partly due to the necessity, in the case of "Enots" of removing and replacing the covering cap, but as these caps so frequently become lost, this argument does not cut much ice. Against the "Zerk" it may be urged that the absence of a cap renders it possible to force dust, mud, or other abrasive matter into the bearing along with the oil, but here, again, the fact that "Enots" caps are so frequently conspicuous by their absence, and in either case the wiping with a cloth before applying the gun is an instantaneous affair, the argument again appears to fall to the ground.

Customers have also mentioned that the Bosch Lubricators have considerable advantages over the "Enot" and I should be very glad indeed to receive something from you in the nature of a report on the points raised.

You will, I am sure, understand that I am merely putting forward these views of Australian customers with the object of, perhaps, precipitating some enquiry into the respective virtues and drawbacks of the different systems mentioned.
