Dear Mr. Clark,

I have to acknowledge your letter of the 20th inst., and note that you hope to reach Coventry on your combination on the morning of Wednesday, December 29th. If you are able to reach Coventry on the Tuesday night, I hope that you will look me up in Kenilworth, as I shall be at home during the whole of that day. My address is

I should like to be in a position to ask you to stay the night with me, but as our house will be full of visitors during the Christmas Holidays, I am afraid this will not be possible. However, if you could manage to come over on the Tuesday afternoon or evening, we should be very pleased to see you, and you could either stay in Kenilworth at the Abbey Hotel, which is quite near my place, or if you wanted to come to Coventry, at the King's Head. Perhaps you would be good enough to let me know what your movements are likely to be.
