Dear Bkl.

With reference to your note re. your "Minx". I have been waiting to try Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}'s "Minx" with an S.U. Carburetter before doing anything to silence the intake, as I am still running the original Solex carburetter. However, if you could let me know whether the R.A.G. gives a better result than the S.U. for average conditions I should be very much obliged. When I have decided what other type of carburetter to fit I shall make an intake silencer. In the meantime it is rather difficult to tell you what to do without some experiments.

There is no doubt that the capacity of the silencer will be considerable and you may not have much room between the air intake and the bonnet side. If you will look at the car which Lp.{Mr Lappin} runs, 58-GN, you will see the dimensions of the silencer which are likely to be necessary. If you could borrow Lp{Mr Lappin}'s silencer you might try it on though it is most unlikely that it is the best that can be managed.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}
