EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. 1036 11th September, 1941. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}2/RH.{R. Hollingworth} Solex Ltd., 223-231, Marylebone Road, L O N D O N. N.W.1. Attention of Mr. Gordon Richards. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter dated 9th September. A short time ago, one of your representatives called here, and it was agreed that before we asked for any further assistance, we should carry out our check test to determine whether or not the 56 mm. carburetters were suitable for our engine. This test was carried out, and we found we were considerably down for power compared with our existing system, the necessary adjustments being made to correct mixture strength etc. We are carrying out further modifications to the complete system and will be pleased to get in touch with you again, depending on the form the revised system takes. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED, | ||
