Applications for Supplementary Petrol.

Due to the present emergency the Ministry of Mines has informed us that supplementary petrol rations must be severely reduced. In view of this, certificates will not be granted to people living within 2 1/2 miles of their work or close to a 'bus route.

Applications to the Petroleum Officer should now only be made for petrol for the purpose of travelling to and from work. The petroleum office has requested that all such applications be accompanied by a certificate from the Management.

A certificate is obtained in the following manner. Application form R.M.S.1. should be completed with the desired monthly mileage inserted in pencil. The form should then be sent to the head of the applicant's department, viz.,

In filling in the applications it should be noted that:-

1. The form should be sent in at least 2 weeks before the commencement of the rationing period.

3. Lunch time travelling should not be included.

4. Mileage should not be claimed when other means of transport are available.

5. Place of employment should be stated on application form (i.e.g. Belper, Hucknall.)
