Re: Silver Wraith Front Suspension. ------------------------- This is to confirm your agreement to our proposals for building the first Silver Wraith Chassis Front Suspension. We have just issued PD.251 (for B.50) a yoke piece increasing the front track to 58.500, but not raising the car. With this is used the B.III stub axle and Girling Brakes. The ground clearance under the clutch pit with 16 x 7 wheels will be 7.500", (Wraith III. is 8.000"). It was agreed that the first Silver Wraith be built with exactly the same parts as B.50, and as described above, except that we supply a design of hydraulic brakes with Hack Shoes for use with the B.50 brake drums. This scheme is almost complete. The procedure enables the Silver Wraith to be instructed and tested without delay. In the meantime we shall go ahead with a redesigned yoke and pivot of greater bearing span which can be applied later if desired. The loss of ground clearance by .500" over Wraith III, can be compensated for by fitting Wraith III wheels (17 x 6). In view of the general tendency to abolish running boards in America, and also to build cars with lower floors we may not need to do this. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
