| 261. To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c. to HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Swdl. {Len H. Swindell} 25/JH.5.1.37. R.6.B.R. Bentley Unit. The above engine which was removed from a customers car B-47-HM {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} on account of a big end seizure after 7,000 miles was sent from Kingsbury for Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 's inspection. This having been carried out, we are returning the above unit for your own re-assembly as a production unit. Both the main bearings and the big ends especially appear to have been short of oil, also a piece of foreign matter was found across the relief valve seat which would cause loss of pressure.
