To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Bly{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales}1/R10.7.36. Re:- H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} S. Arnold, Esq., Allerton House, Doncaster, Yorkshire. Chassis No. B.96.GA. 4¼-litre Bentley car, delivered 27.5.36. The above called in the Showrooms last evening and complained of the clutch of this car. He said about two weeks ago, the car was sent into "W" where they had it for two days, and he believes a new clutch was fitted, although when the trouble was first reported, he said they did not seem to know what to do about it. However, he has done 500 miles since they have fitted the new clutch and he says it is still as bad as ever, in fact he is frightened to use the car to any extent because it shudders the transmission, so much so that he thinks this brouble will develop with the transmission. He is very disappointed to have had this trouble, and feels rather sorry that he has changed from his 3½-litre to the 4¼-litre, as his 3½-litre never at any time had clutch trouble, and he considered that we had made a mistake in fitting the Borg & Beck clutch. I naturally regretted that he had had further trouble with the clutch, and said I was certain that the matter could be put right. I would therefore report the matter, and we would get in touch with him concerning the car coming into our works again for attention. Bly.{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales} | ||
