DRAWING NO. 8320. A & B.
This shows a 3-ton bevel driven axle, it being noted that the differential bearings are mounted directly in the axle casing, which makes a very rigid mounting for the gearing, and has been found to be a very quiet axle, while you will be interested to note the kick pad at the back of the crown gear.

DRAWING NO. 8435.
This shows a somewhat heavier axle with bevel drive, the interesting features being the straddle mounting of the pinion; the fact that the differential bearings are mounted directly in the axle casing, and the rigidity of the axle portion carrying the pinion housing.

DRAWING NO. 8320/4.
This is the detail drawing of the axle casing for the 3-ton axle shown on 8320.A and B. and gives a very clear indication of the general propositions.

DRAWING NO. 8350/4.
This is a detail of the axle casing as described in the Catalogue for worm gear and gives a clear indication of the thicknesses etc. to which they can work.

DRAWING NO. 8380/4.
This is a slightly heavier axle than the previous one, having 11.1/2" register diameter instead of 11", and you will particular note that the axle arm adjacent the basin is counterbored quite a
