Contd. -2- EFC3/T2.9.26. In addition to the above double ballast resistances of wire of standard composition, we are also trying out double ballast resistances of wire of so-called "Mangonic" material, i.e. a nickel which contains 3.65% manganese. From analysis it would appear to be more nearly similar in composition to the ballast resistance wire used on the Remy ignition and we anticipate that, like the Remy, it will give a volt-ampere characteristic curve which does not shew so much of a turn-up at the higher loadings.
