R.R.23.A.(30 T. S.H. 956. 19-2-21) C. 200S x2676 EFC2/T26.9.21. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. to CJ. c. to FN. X.3398 - PETO & RADFORD BATTERIES. x2676 x4283 x4444 We are obtaining further P & R batteries of size suitable for the large car and we are also in correspondence with Messrs. Peto & Radford in regard to batteries of size suitable for the Goshawk. It may be remembered that the Goshawk battery box for the rear of frame has been arranged dimensionally to suit the small C.A.V.-Willard 12XR2. One cell, however, of the only 12XR2 C.A.V.Willard battery which we have has been misbehaving itself prematurely; we do not yet know the cause. In place of ordering another of these from the makers, we shall probably arrange for them to exchange this battery for another similar one. It therefore is advisable to have batteries of other makes under consideration for the Goshawk, and with this end in view, we gave Mr. Breeden of the Lucas Co. the dimensions of the box and of the battery to fit the box, as he said he would be pleased to have a battery made up for trial. This we think will be good, because Lucas batteries are undoubtedly quite in the running. We are also sending on to Messrs. Peto & Radford the same dimensions, and it is proposed to order from them, if they can supply, two batteries of Goshawk size, to these dimensions. EFC. | ||
