This column is for Name of Person addressed. DATE. (2) we are certainly decidedly in the minority as regards this point, and I believe we are the only firm of repute who adopt this policy. I should like to point out that we do not adopt this policy because we think detachable wheels are bad in principle, but because we have not yet been able to obtain a detachable wheel which is really efficient and soundly designed. The Committee have recommended that we design a wheel on the lines of Mr Royce's patent, but this scheme was originally dropped by Mr Royce, owing to difficulties in design, and which we do not yet see our way to overcome them.
