(3) There is another point in connection with the Salerni coupling, and that is, as we are helping Mr. Salerni by pointing out the imperfections of his scheme, and promising to test a combination which he thinks best, and also in view of the great help it would be to him commercially for us to adopt his coupling, he has very kindly consented to our using it on our English made cars free of royalty should we decide to adopt it. I think an agreement should be drawn up regarding this point. Naturally I have not mentioned the 101 schemes that have been schemed and suggested by ourselves and others, but which have been set aside for the above, which we consider the best of the attempts to overcome this long standing deficiency.
