W/S - C. c. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X 796 D Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/R1.16/KW.22.11.34. Replying to C1&C.20.11.34, we note that you agree to have the new type clutch on your car. We are preparing the necessary parts and will let you know when they are ready to be fitted. We discussed with SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} the complaint that the 20/25 steering had become unnecessarily heavy for modern traffic conditions. We have not his decision yet, but if he considers it desirable we can slightly lower the steering ratio on your car at the same time. We can of course deal in the same way with Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s car and Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s new car, as you suggest. One point we should like to raise is that the Sales Coachwork car, GZU-24, had a complete set of Smith's hydraulic jacks fitted to it. If this car is going to be disposed of we should like these jacks to be kept under the Company's observation and to be fitted to one of the three cars you mention. We had also despatched to Lillie Hall a bumper bar and fittings for this car as it was particularly bad for wing movement. Perhaps you would like to allot these to some other chassis.
