To H.S.
From G.W.H.

21 G IV reached here last night. Your letter arrived midday to-day. Your remarks noted, and I will try and do my best, but candidly it is making the job a nightmare. For the present the men will work two shifts, part on the Bentley and the rest on 21 G IV. I have been out on 21 G IV. The engine is certainly smooth, but is lacking in acceleration from the low speeds. The remaining features we may console our feelings that it is still advertised as the best car in the world.

We are sending back to you the R.A.C. papers belonging to the car as your signature is required in three places. Wrylls should have had an authorisation to sign on your behalf. As it stands now the customs in England will not allow us to re-enter without a penalty of £5.0.0. Will you please therefore sign and return the papers immediately. A letter of authorisation will be required for the person who returns with the car.

G.W.H.
G.W. Hancock.
