To EY/RD. from EFC. X2894 EFC7/T28.1.27. IGNITION CONTACT POINT EXPERIMENTS. Herewith please receive copy of a suggestion made by my assistant for an experimental mounting for tungsten screw point on R.R. battery ignition distributor providing not too rigid support to assist the scrubbing action at make. Would you please consider this suggestion and if you think it falls in with Mr. Royce's suggestion on p.2. of R2/M22.1.27, we should be pleased if you would instruct for one set of these parts to be made which should be readily adaptable to an existing distributor for experiment. The suggested advantages of this scheme are:- (1) Simplicity, replacing machined die-casting at present used. (2) Better condenser connection. (3) Points could be lined up easily. (4) Considered improved method of locking and adjusting screw - as in magneto practice and Remy and U.S.A.Bosch distributors. EFC. | ||
