BIRMINGHAM, 24.

Dear Mr. King,

I have been going over the tyre programme with our people and there do not seem to be enough points outstanding between the two Companies to justify a discussion at the present time.

We do want some more 4-ply Rayon 7 1/2" and 7" tyres provided that these can be produced at an economic figure after the War. If the price of Rayon is going to be prohibitive, then we would like a similar tyre made in low stretch or some other less costly construction.

You will remember that we had trouble with the treads throwing on some of our 6 1/2" tyres running at high speeds and we wrote to Mr. Healey on the subject in a letter dated August 11th. The War may have prevented the tyres ever reaching you, but we still have to find a solution to the tyre for the high speed car in this size.

Yours sincerely,
