[STAMP: THE SOCIETY OF MOTOR MANUFACTURERS & TRADERS] H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} West Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. (Car Radio) YOUR REF. OUR REF. WOK/PP. SUBJECT 28th May 1934. Dear Mr. West, Upon returning to London I looked into the matter of Philco installations that we had carried out in connection with Bentley Chassis and I find that we have fitted up some half a dozen. We do find, however, that there is an interference difficulty on this car, which is due to the fact that the Voltage Controller needs screening but, inasmuch as it is hermetically sealed, we cannot carry out our usual practice of suppressing the interference by means of a Condenser. As I mentioned to you when we were discussing this point, I do not believe that any additional capacity need affect the operation of the Regulator and we should like to arrange, somehow or other, for this interference to be eliminated. As a step towards accomplishing this, we will, if you like, carry out some tests with a spare Regulator if you will send us one and then we can let you have our recommendations. Will you let me know whether this will be agreeable to you. I am, Yours sincerely, [Signature] Managing Director. P.T.O. | ||
