X3725 c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 12th. February 1929. BY5/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} ------ Messrs. Dunlop Rim & Wheel Co. Ltd., Foleshill, Coventry. Dear Sirs, TYPE N.2 WIRE WHEELS WITH WIDE TRACK. Referring to your letter of the 11th inst. (ref. PBC/DJ.564 Drawing Office) we note that you will be able to despatch the above wheels within a day or two. With reference to the further point you mention viz. a modification to the spoking which you think is possible in view of the different position of the rim relative to the hub, we assume from your letter that you have included the modification in question in the wheels, as you suggest that we should inspect same from this point of view. It may be, however, that you have not made the modification in spoking to this set of wheels, but would like us to examine the wheels, so that if and when we require more of them we could say whether we are in agreement with your proposal to modify the spoking. This matter will have our attention, and will be dealt with if and when any more of this type of wheel is ordered; at the present time, however, they are purely experimental. Yours faithfully, [Signature] TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ENGINEER. FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
