Standardising rubber hose water connections and extending changes from E series to D series chassis.

On 10.5.37. we issued a standardisation sheet for rubber hose water connections in special hose, specification 1633 K, supplied by Leyland & Birmingham Rubber Co. Ltd., and water joint washers material in Klingerite material instead of existing Dermatine material. This sheet was completed on 1.6.37. In our opinion these new materials are definetely very much more satisfactory than the present standard ones. We find that although these changes have been instructed for E series Ph.III chassis, they have not been instructed for D series, merely because the four port cylinder head instructed for D series necessitates new piece numbers for some of the water connections. We consider that if these alterations to the connections are worth having on E series, they are also worth having on D series, and would like you to instruct accordingly.
