To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. BJ13/H14.12.21. Inter-departmental Memoranda. C.J. has written from Paris and asked me to look through the Works carbons. You know he is anxious for officials at Derby to talk things over with eachother rather than to write memoranda. You will doubtless keep this in mind, as I believe you meet, or can see, the officials of each department daily. Do you not think it would save typing if the circular memoranda forwarding permanent Standardisation Sheets were omitted in future and the permanent Standardisation Sheets sent out with just the officials' initials at the top?
