hold our power at full throttle down to 32) r.p.m. six to seven m.p.h. on top gear. We can get instant acceleration from eight m.p.h. by opening to full throttle suddenly there are no flat spots in the carburation. We suggest, however, that whatever type of carburetter is considered we should have a twin type; We know of no other way of getting this increase in power at useful speeds.

Our competitors, Hispano, Bentley six sports, and several others use twin carburetters.

The failings we have with the Solex so far are poor consumption cruising and noise, but we think that by working on these points considerable improvement could be made. We should like to make the best we could with the fixed throat carburetter and then to compare it with the expanding type.

Bench tests have been made on the 25 HP. engine which prove that the same percentage of improvement is available on the engine with twin carburetters. This form induction system is possible in the 'Japan' engine but is difficult on the present 'China'. The increase in power with the 'Japan' would then make it more attractive.
