To PA.{Mr Paterson} c.c Wst. K.L.G. Sparking Plugs. We have removed six sparking plugs (E.26) from B bank of 36-EX (to make way for six special plugs) These were fitted in 1 2 3 inlet and three in 4 5 6 exhaust. They have completed 6934 miles with a complaint of misfiring at 4633. This was cured by reducing the gaps from .030 to .020. During the last 2301 miles the gaps have opened up, varying from .020 to .030". We consider this burning of the earth is excessive and will no doubt give trouble in service. In their favour Lee reports that the slow running of the car at present is good, and from inspection of the plugs they appear to be overcoming the carbon and bad deposit which has formed.
