SIMPLICITY
Here are shown all the essential parts of the Cone Hytor. Such simplicity indicates a product which has been engineered to the highest possible perfection.

THE CONE
Note port construction responsible for remarkable efficiency of the Cone Type Hytor.

RIGID BEARING BRACKET
Housing for bearing is dust proof, and located outside of pump casing.

PUMP HEAD
Accurately cast and machined and containing air passages which form an efficient unit in the new assembly.

NOTHING TO WEAR
No valves, sliding vanes, pistons, cams, gears, or rubbing surfaces in this pump. No metal to metal contact excepting in the heavy ball bearings. This is made possible by the unique Hytor liquid seal, which makes large clearances possible.

PERFORMANCE

NASH HYTOR COMPRESSORS are available in seven sizes, in capacities from 50 to 2,700 cubic feet of free air for pressure up to 45 lbs. per square inch. Recommendations for specific conditions will be made promptly.

NASH HYTOR VACUUM PUMPS. The table below gives capacities and horse power requirements at normal speed for Type L Hytor. Type L Hytor is recommended for vacuums up to 18" and shows a maximum vacuum of about 26 inches of mercury. By staging two pumps a vacuum within 0.5 inch mercury of the barometer can be handled.

SPEED: The R.P.M. shown for the smaller pumps is the full load 60 cycle induction motor speed which shows best efficiency for each size. For the L8 and L9 the most efficient speeds are shown. For performance at speeds other than those given above refer to our offices; a variation in speed of at least 10% above or below normal is permissible to meet requirements exactly.

Nash Hytor cone type vacuum pumps are especially well suited to all applications on paper machines. Their steady suction and their ability to handle some water with the air make them ideal as suction roll pumps. Available with high efficiency at normal or high vacuums, according to requirements, they fit every need in this field.

For suction boxes on the wire of a Fourdrinier paper machine we recommend the Jennings Flat Box Unit. It is a combination air and water pumping unit consisting of a Nash Hytor Cone Type Vacuum Pump and a suitable Centrifugal Pump connected to a separating tank. This arrangement permits delivery of the white water to the desired point with high efficiency and relieves the vacuum pump of excess water which would reduce its efficiency as an air pump. Flat Box Units can be manufactured to meet individual requirements using all sizes of Vacuum Pumps to the L6 by the addition of the proper centrifugal pump and tank.

In cases where there is a sufficiently deep basement a barometric system of piping may be used to accomplish separation. Such a system is important mainly in connection with flat boxes on cylinder machines when the water is run to waste.

Aside from the paper machine itself, Nash Vacuum Pumps and Jennings Flat Box Units find many applications in paper and pulp mills. They are used on pneumatic conveyors, vacuum cleaning systems, multiple effect evaporators, savealls, vacuum filters and continuous pulp washers.

Our engineers are conversant with all standard and special paper machine problems and have at their command complete information on existing installations with full operating data. Because of their wide experience, our engineers are well fitted to recommend the type and size of pumps best suited to give given conditions and their services in analyzing these problems are at your command.
