-2- RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}8/JH.12.38. Test (3) similar to test (2) but with an ambient temperature of 70°C. No ballast. Ballast. No ballast Ballast. DELCO Wraith Special Lucas. 20,000 R.R. To our specification With case. Primary temp. 121.5°C. 94.1°C. 138.5°C. 87.5°C. Without case. Primary temp. 141°C. 83.6°C. 138.9°C. 87.5°C. In each test the temperature of the Delco Remy coil is considerably increased by removing the metal case, whereas in the other coils which have bakelite cases the opposite effect occurrs, but to a lesser degree.
