ORIGINAL TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C.c. to WCR. E.Y. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M10.2.26. X7390 X7770 X7830 re. EAC. 8. FIRST CHASSIS. As far as we are responsible for the coachwork section of this chassis, we consider that we are not in any way holding up the job. The modifications called for by the revised steering positions and cast dashboard necessitate very considerable modifications to the scuttle of the stock body which we purchased immediately on receiving your instructions. We pressed Barkers with all the power we had to carry out the work in the shortest time possible, and were unable to get any better promise than Feb. 19. In order to speed up the work we have had sent to you a set of wings and valances which can be mounted almost completely before the arrival of the body. If there are any other coachwork features which you consider we can attend to, and so speed up the departure of this chassis for France, would you kindly let us know.
