W/P - Sr. X1245 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.24.5.35. We should like to know what in your opinion is the maximum damper load necessary for Continental conditions. As you probably know, one of Hancock's pivots failed in France, and we think that this is probably due to the governor control dampers. We want you to examine all pivots for signs of similar failures when the cars have done 30,000 miles. At the same time, if we can reduce the maximum damper loads this will certainly reduce the stress in the pivots. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
