807. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/R.30.9.38. 8-cyl. engine camshaft. Will you please note that the run we have had on the 6-cyl. Bentley 50 engine has indicated that the camforms require modifying, and the necessary instructions are on the point of being completed for the new forms. We recommend, therefore, that you do not finish off this camshaft to the old forms as at present. Of course, ultimately, we would rather have an old type camshaft than hold up the engine, but as you have not yet a main casting, we think it might be possible to get the new camforms in time to keep pace with the rest of the engine.
