Contd. -2- EFC/T15.12.28. It may, for instance, appear more suitable with the taper armature to use a higher rated spring as at present. Personally, I cannot see how it is possible with any combination of spring and armature taper to have a condition where it neither thumps in nor thumps out, unless some form of fluid damping is utilised.
