Purchase of Buick Car. We tried a series 50 Buick last week. As far as we could make out, this car has no advantages over the series 40 for our purpose. It has certain disadvantages because it is a heavier car, slightly less up-to-date in design and has not such a good performance as the series 40. We therefore recommend that we buy a series 40. Originally we were told that there were no series 40's available in this country. When we insisted we received a letter as per the attached copy. The objection to the two-door is that it is difficult to re-sell, otherwise the car is what we want. We recommend that, provided this car they are prepared to sell us is guaranteed by them to be up-to-date in every respect, we should purchase it, unless they can obtain delivery of a similar car for us of the four-door type within three weeks.
