RAISED ENGINE MOUNTING ON THE BENTLEY.

During the recent Conference with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} it appeared that if B.III was introduced at the 1938 Motor Show, material for only 100 more Bentleys was likely to be ordered. If this is so, we query the advisability of bringing in the raised engine mounting for which we have issued a standardisation sheet.

It would not be so bad if this raised engine mounting was the sole issue, but, unfortunately, cantilever pedals go with it on the Bentley, because these are not at present standard, and there is no doubt that they cannot be considered an inexpensive design.

We have circulated standardisation sheets for both these items, so that in the case of a customer's complaint it might be advisable to put him right, but we certainly do not think it is worth while introducing such sweeping modifications if 100 cars only will benefit therefrom.
