The large dowel pin engaging with the groove in the cradle is to prevent the dynamo creeping round, and to prevent it being pushed too far into the wheelcase. Two small dowel pins are provided, one each side of the rearmost strap, to ensure that the dynamo shall be pushed in far enough when erected on the engine.
