TO HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM AJS.

AJS1/M8. 6. 25.

Copy to BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} re. FABRIC COUPLING FOR EAC.

Referring to your report of above on 93-NK. - HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 4/LG4.6.25. - will you please let us know which coupling it is that is fitted to this car?

The last one sent, which had some special features introduced by Mr. Royce, was of LeC. 2056.

As, according to your report, the coupling has not yet failed, we should like to know its ultimate relative strength compared with LeC. 2050. or LeC. 2056., which-ever one it happens to be.

Further, will you kindly say if there are any deviations constructionally from either of the above drawings on the successful coupling.

While making the comparative tests, which should be on our rig LeC. 2059., we should like to know for purposes of comparison the results of testing coupling LeC.2054.

In making the last test we wish the total thickness of the three discs to be exactly equal to the one thick disc it is being compared with.

Will you please let us have the information asked for herein as soon as possible, as we are now about to design a coupling for EAC. Vll.
