-3- furnace in their Experimental Dept. The Champion Co. still pin their faith to their existing insulator, which may be because they can do no other, in view of Messrs K.L.G. securing the rights for "Sinterkorund". We are informed by Messrs K.L.G. however, that certain Patents *taken recently out by Messrs Champion indicate that they are experimenting with "Sinterkorund". Furthermore, Champion plugs are American and although a factory is being put up in London, it will only manufacture plug bodies as it is proposed to still import the insulators. So far our tests with Champion plugs have been successful but it would be unwise to standardise them until we have done more extensive running. Only recently K.L.G. secured the Austin business from Champion due to the unsatisfactory performance of Champion plugs on Austin cars. The most promising development from all points of view is that of Messrs K.L.G. and we are assured that the price of the new K.L.G. plug will be down to the old level of approximately 7½d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} per plug instead of the 2/6d. we are paying at present. All the Ceramic plugs are non-detachable and the advantage of this feature is that the plug insulator is not disturbed for cleaning operations, the plug being cleaned by directing a sand blast direct into the plug. Most garages have machines for this purpose placed on the market by Messrs Champion and A.C. Practically all our Experimental cars are now running with Ceramic insulated sparking plugs and a careful log is being kept of their behaviour with lead fuel. Hm{Capt. W.
