(4) basis an annual sum should be allocated, if it is desired that this development should go on continuously, and if for any reason this sum is absorbed too quickly, then the matter should be raised.

It seems to me that now we have had 12 months' experience introducing the alloy experimentally to the Industry that the whole position should be reviewed, and it is essential that when this is done those responsible for the original agreement should be present so that any difficulties could be ironed out.

I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Devereux, and should be glad to have your agreement that the Meeting be held at Derby. If you and Mr. Devereux could let me have alternative dates, which are mutually convenient for both of you, I will find out which one is most suitable for Mr. Hives, and we can arrange a Meeting accordingly.
