HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1020. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/P.24.12.36. CAR ENGINE BEARINGS. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} wants us to try machining bearings to size, machining crankcases to size and putting the engine up without reaming. We are doubtful whether we shall be able to get away with this owing to the rigidity of our crankcase, but consider it is worth trying. We have two crankcases from the Birmal people in the Stores made out of their alloy, and we should like to use one of these for the test. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
