To EY. From Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}; G.Ex.W.Iv. re Sustained Maximum Speeds. You have doubtless seen in the Press reference to a test which Lagonda's conducted to prove that their cars will stand up to continuous fast driving on the new roads in Europe. I enclose copy of letter which they are writing round on the subject. This of course is issued as a smack at us in connection with the restrictions that we have put on continuous running at maximum speeds. The thing that staggers me is that they are able to do something which we with over 30 years' knowledge and experience behind us are unable to do. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Enc.
