The above people are issuing an advertising leaflet which states that Mex spirit is used exclusively by Rolls-Royce. A customer has drawn our attention to this and wishes to know whether we consider it the equal of Shell No.1
Is the reason that we use this spirit more a matter of price than superiority ?

In reply to the above, we do not use Mex Spirit exclusively on our cars. Every car, before it is turned out, is tested with Shell No.1 spirit. The Shell No.1 spirit is certainly superior to Mex. By superior, we mean it has a higher flash point, and will evaporate more equally, completely. It is more uniform in composition and gives better results in carburation.
