Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby. BWG{J. C. Bowring} / file Dear Mr. Hives, We have recently been making further investigation in connection with the pumps with faulty cores, and we find that even picking out the stiffest diaphragms we can find in rejected pumps with faulty cores, that by shortening the stroke .015, these instruments with the stiff diaphragm work even better than the new pumps with flexible diaphragms. The probable reason that you have not run into trouble is because the stroke on your pump is already shortened by .010, so that we are in the fortunate position, at any rate of believing that you will not get any trouble. Under the circumstances, however, if you still consider it necessary to change the pumps completely for instruments which we know have good cores, we shall be pleased to do so, but we will leave the decision entirely in your hands. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, [Signature] | ||
