The following modifications have been standardised to improve the lubrication of the push rod ball-ends to reduce wear and reduce the supply of oil to the valve tips in order to cut down top overoiling. (1) Single hole .015 dia. drilled in the annulus of each bronze bush. The Alteration no. to the drawing is E.86884 - 18612 E (2) 4 felt pellets to be fitted in the valve end of each rocker to the drawing E.88785. If actual felts are not available these can be punched out of E.77877 felt. (3) Groove in the adjusting screw and the bottom ball end of the push rods to E.87349 and E.85333 the alteration being 18608 E Enclosed drawings cover the job.
