For the attention of Mr.Martin-Hurst

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of April 30th. with your quotation figure of 15/- each for our thermostat EB.667, and note your remarks re the reason of this charge.

In view of these remarks we send you herewith a sketch Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}369 showing a proposed modification to our thermostat EB.667 to facilitate initial setting of the thermostat etc. Our proposal is to send you the valve, valve unit, spindle, lock nut, distance piece and thermostat casing - the assembly of the complete unit in its casing as shown in Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}369 (attached) being done by yourselves - this would permit you to set the valve at its correct opening temperature by screwing the spindle in or out of the bellows end plate as shown on this drawing.

We should like to know whether you consider this an improvement and if so what your charge would be for fitting up the unit as described above. We should like to have this information by return.

We have not yet received the two thermostats to B.G.A. 3357.A. ordered under our letter of April 28th. We are anxious to get these as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
