8-EX. (Auto switch B)

This was somewhat subject to road shocks, but the normal operating voltages were 15.0 volts to open, and 13.0 volts to re-close. The battery is a P & R and Exide sandwich in which when charging the P & R cells show 2.6 volts each and the Exides 2.3 volts, total 14.7 volts final value with the auto switch points held closed.

The switch setting is thus not far wrong for the battery. The re-closing adjustment seemed to be too high. On a bumpy road the switch would open and close several times in a mile. The adjustment had previously been altered on the road.

The temperature compensation of all the above switches seemed good, there being very little difference in operation between cold and hot condition.
