X7390 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/12.4.30. c. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. (For Sales) WING STAYS. X7390 X5390 The wing stays of P.2. are .128 ins. thick (SWG. 10) and have a stiffener at the base. As far as we can tell the stays of the 20/25HP. are .104" thick (SWG.12) and have a stiffener at the base. We had an idea that we had agreed to these stays being made the same gauge as those for P.2. but are unable to find any of the latest details of the 20/25 HP. stays. We suggest that the stays of the 20/25 HP. should be made of the same gauge material as those for P.2. and experiments be made to discover whether the base stiffener is essential. We are sending to you in a few days designs for head-lamp brackets for the 20/25 HP. on the lines of those for P.2. This is essential in view of the fact that a number of cars are fitted with Lucas P.80. lamps which are much heavier than those originally used. We also think that the appearance of the front of the car will be improved, the lighting and focus of the lamps benefited and the wiring simplified. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
