66036 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.13/MA. 25th May, 1934. Messrs. Delco-Remy & Hyatt Ltd., 111, Grosvenor Road, London, S.W.1. For the attention of Mr. W.O.Kennington. Dear Sir, Following our conversation yesterday regarding the Delco-Remy distributor for the Bentley Chassis we should be glad if you will send us a standard double breaker distributor arranged with an automatic advance of 11° on the cam spindle, the amount of manual advance should be 30°. Upon receipt of this distributor we will arrange to fit same up on a Chassis and carry out tests. We hope you enjoyed your visit to our works yesterday I am sure we found you talks most interesting. You will be interested to know that an aero engine with battery ignition on is going to Farnborough and we anticipate will be flying next week, that is provided we do not get any ignition failures. We think it a good plan to get into touch with the Delco-Remy Aviation Corporation to see if it is possible to get another distributor complete made up in England of the screen type you have supplied to us, in any case we think it a wise policy to obtain spare parts immediately in case of failure during the Air Ministry tests. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
