- 4 - Dashboard. NOTE: (1) The English wide dash is not being adopted. We should like to use this to avoid having to bring the front of the body sill over the top of the frame. However the situation on body types made and ordered will not permit its adoption until later. We propose later to build one or two cars with special experimental wide dashboards and special bodies to correspond, in order to obtain fuller information beforehand, on appearance, etc. (2) The cast dashboard cannot be adopted yet for the same reason. (3) The dashboard is to be arranged however so that a sheet of insulation can be carried up the rear face of the dash and covered by carpet to match the upholstery of the car. We are now doing this in a preliminary way on all cars and find it excellent for reduction of engine noise and heat in the front compartment. Yours faithfully, ROLLS ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC.
